Wordless Wednesday–Irish Monastery
My husband has been in Ireland since Friday. He is over there visiting Fr. Kirby and helping him get the Silverstream Priory renovated. This is a big project that the little monastery is undertaking and it will take several years. But the trip is not all pray and work (Benedictine joke here – Ora et Labora). Dh has been taking some afternoon trips to sightsee. He has a very special travel companion with him. See if you can spot who went along on the trip. One more note, yes that is my husband above he is wearing a cassock with a scapular. He is a Deacon and a Benedictine Oblate. No he does not dress this his regular job.
Did you spot the cat in some of the pictures? My daughters’ packed it in their Dad’s suitcase and he decided to make a game of “find the kitty”
If you would like to help the monks at Sivestream Priory you can do so here, it doesn’t take much to make a difference.

Love the kitty as a way for your kids to stay connected! I enjoyed your Benedictine joke!
Thanks Margaret, The girls put the kitty in dh's suit case and he is the one that decided to take pictures with it in it. It has been great fun for everyone to look for the kitty. Glad you got the Benedictine joke!
I love the kitty! And what a lucky duck your husband is to visit such beautiful sites in Ireland, and do such meaningful work, too.
Thanks Lauren, He is very lucky to have a such a vocation, especially since his day to day job is one where he read contracts all day.
