Natural Parenting Blog Party

Today I am joining (a little late) the blog hop over at The Peaceful Housewife

Q. How many children do you have, and how old are they?
A.  I have three wonderful children ages, 13. 10 and 6
Q. Do you have a partner, or are you a single parent?
A. I have a wonderful husband of 16 years
Q. What are your “hot button” parenting issues?
A. Sleep training,
Q. Have you made any parenting choices that you didn’t think you would make before you were a parent, i.e. cloth diapering a child when you had previously thought it was disgusting?
A. I never in a million years thought I would nurse for as long as I did, I planned to nurse for at least a year but had mine lingered on till 2 years or more
Q. Is there one book or person in particular that’s heavily influenced your parenting choices?
A. While I was pregnant with my first child, I discovered Dr. Bob Sears and all of his books. His philosophy resonated with me
Q. If you had to describe each of your children using only one word, what word would you use?
A.  My oldest is the cop, the middle the lawyer and the youngest the politician
Q. Is there one parenting decision that you regret more than others and wish you could change?
A. I made the decision to remain home when my kids were young. Sometimes I wonder if a career would have been a better choice
Q. Is there an area of your parenting you wish you were better at?
A.  Patience, definitely patience. With the teenage years looming I will need more of it I am sure
Q. Now for the fun questions – is there one particular food or type of food that you could eat every day?
A. no brainer – Chocolate
Q. Vanilla ice cream or chocolate?
A. See above
Q. What’s your guilty pleasure?
A. Cherry Berry. I go without the kids –shh! don’t tell them
Q. If you could be part of any television show, which show would it be?
A. If we had cable I would so be a Travel Channel Junkie, so I guess I would have to say put me on a travel show. Something that combines Amazing Race with Globe Trekker
And last but not least, don’t forget to link up!!

Hi! I stopped by to read your intro for the natural parenting party. I'd love to be on the Amazing Race, too!

It's so nice to meet you, even if it is in a rather unconventional way. I love that most every intro I have read so far mentions chocolate. I'm right there with you!

Great to meet you! I love how you described your kids. Glad you don't have a fourth - he or she may have been "the criminal"!

I seem to be seeing a lot of "patience" as something people wish they had more of...perhaps we should have a Patient Party? :) Can't wait to read your future posts!

@ Shannon - the name seemed to be a natural fit for me. No pun intended. I have a reputation as being crunchy and granola even within my family. It wasn't until I had kids of my own that I realized my mom was a bit of a hippy. I always that the hippy in in the family was my uncle, lol. I tell my husband that we are yippies - former yuppies that are now hippies.

@ Alcia - with my luck the fourth would have probally been the princess. But I like your thinking.
